I, Eyubov Karim Tahir worked in the
Institute of Radiation Problems of the
Academy Sciences of Azerbaijan, so my
research is linked with the fields of
nuclear physics and radiation
chemistry. My thesis work is devoted
on producing of molecular hydrogen
from oil and oil-polluted waters by
the irradiation of γ-rays. As it is
known, producing and using of
alternative sources of energy is one
of the most actual problems of modern
science. And these sources must be
ecologically pure. So, molecular
hydrogen is most perspective source
for the matter in that. Using of high
energy sources, such as γ-rays,
α-rays, electronic beam and others,
for hydrogen producing from different
materials is interesting both
scientific and practical fields of
view. My thesis work was devoted on
deciding of two problems: hydrogen
producing and purification of
oil-polluted waters. The got results
confirm of selected way: the
radiation-chemical yield of molecular
hydrogen is equal to hundreds
molecules per 100 eV of used energy.
This is a good value in comparison
with traditional ways. And also
simultaneously, toxicity of polluted
water decreases in several times, that
useful from ecological aspect. There
were received other useful products:
methane, ethane, propane, and some
spirits. Besides, it was found optimal
conditions for maximal transform of
radiation energy to final products,
i.e. dose of radiation, composition of
polluted water, temperature of process
and etc. Results were published in
scientific journals both in Azerbaijan
and abroad.
