About
I am a passionate ecologist with a strong background in environmental science and sustainability. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Environment and Sustainability from Sewanee: The University of the South in 2017. During my undergraduate studies, I developed a deep appreciation for the complexity and interconnectedness of ecological systems through course work and research on a surface flow constructed wetland for pharmaceutical removal. This led me to pursue a Ph.D in Ecology from the Odum School of Ecology at the University of Georgia, which I will be completed in 2022. Throughout my academic career, I have been dedicated to conducting research that addresses pressing environmental issues and finding sustainable solutions. My research has focused on the problems and potential solutions with implementing direct and indirect water recycling programs. To fully understand the barriers to water recycling I combine research and understanding of policy, economics, and ecological fields. In addition to my research, I have also gained valuable teaching and mentorship experience as a lecturer at the University of Georgia and an Assistant Professor at Reinhardt University. I am excited to continue working to increase access to fresh water sources using interdisciplinary research and expertise while sharing my knowledge and passion for environmental science with students to help them develop a deeper understanding of our natural world.
