About

With over six years of experience as an Assistant Professor at Harvard Business School, I am passionate about advancing the field of household financial decision making and improving the financial well-being of millions of people. My research leverages transactions level data to explore topics such as informal social insurance, housing affordability, and climate risk impacts on households. I strive to produce rigorous, relevant, and impactful research that can inform policy and practice, and to inspire and mentor the next generation of scholars and leaders in finance. <br> In my current role, I work on various projects that examine the financial behavior and choices of individuals and households in the United States. For example, one of my recent papers investigates how informal risk-sharing arrangements among friends and family affect consumption smoothing. Another paper studies how the rising cost of housing affects household saving, borrowing, and mobility. I also teach courses on core finance topics to MBA students, and supervise doctoral students and research assistants. I use my skills in data analysis, econometrics, and economics to conduct rigorous and innovative research, and to create engaging learning experiences for my students.
