About

Susanne Haga is a highly educated and experienced professional in the field of human genetics and genomics. She received her PhD in Human Genetics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 1999. After completing her doctoral degree, she joined the National Institutes of Health's Office of Science Policy. In 2004, she joined the Institute for Genome Sciences & Policy at Duke University's School of Medicine. She is currently Professor of Medicine, with appointments in the Department of Biology and Sanford School of Public Policy. Throughout her career, Haga has conducted extensive research on the ethical, legal, and social implications of genetic testing and personalized medicine, particularly focusing on clinical implementation of pharmacogenetic testing for the past decade. She has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented her work at conferences. In addition to her research, Haga is also dedicated to teaching and mentoring the next generation of scientists. She has overseen multiple educational programs and has mentored many students and postdoctoral fellows. Overall, Susanne Haga's education and experience make her a highly respected and knowledgeable expert in the field of human genetics and genomics. She continues to make significant contributions to the field through her research, teaching, and mentoring efforts.
