Serve as a floodplain-wetland restoration/climate change expert supporting HDR with the USACE Planning Assistance to States (PAS) Study for the Bangert Island Flood Risk and Riverfront Transformation Project, in cooperation with the USACE Kansas City District and City of St. Charles, MO. Provided general quality control review and advice regarding concept-level cost estimates and operation & maintenance activities, specifically focusing on wetland restoration, floodplain revegetation, aeration of a potential water feature (algae control), and water quality management, all in consideration of potential climate change impacts.

Led larval/young-of-year fish surveys, benthic substrate ground-truthing and hydroacoustic fish surveys. Site Lead for Great Lakes and Mississippi River Inter-Basin Study (GLMRIS) assessments in Pennsylvania, New York, and Ohio; evaluated potential for aquatic nuisance species movement between basins. Value Engineering Reviews for: 1) Missouri River Bed Degradation Study for Kansas City District; 2) Moose Creek Dam-Chena River Flood Control Project in Fairbanks for Alaska District. Coordinated internal review of Institute of Water Resources-funded Ohio River Basin Climate Change Study, and represented USACE HQ/IWR at Mid-Western Drought Early Warning Systems Meeting in St. Louis. Led District effort to develop maintenance dredging and native mussel management plan. Assisted with the update/standardization of District Water Control Manual (water supply) and environmental flow assessment and the determination of District policy for shale gas extraction activities on Corps-managed lands.

Led field surveys of mammals (including bats, other small mammal species, and deer), assisted with surveys for amphibians, fish, reptiles, vegetation, and other habitat components within forested habitats. Developed and analyzed literature database regarding USFS fish research. Presented research findings at national and international meetings (2000-2004).
