I’m Marcus Vinicius Neves, a lawyer focused on environmental law and policy analysis, particularly in relation to animal rights. With experience handling cases like the Mariana Dam disaster, I help businesses navigate legal challenges and secure compensation for environmental damages. Currently, I’m completing a Master’s in Sustainable Development at the University of Sussex, where my research centers on legal frameworks for biodiversity and animal protection. In addition to my legal work, I lead the *Can Fiction Help Us Thrive?* initiative at THRIVE, exploring how storytelling can drive conversations around sustainability and ethics. I was selected for the 2024/25 BeVisioneers Mercedes-Benz Fellowship for my project *Beyond Human Rights*, which advocates for extending legal protections to non-human entities. My work is driven by a commitment to practical, research-based solutions that support sustainable development and legal reforms.
