Led DNA template production for mRNA for 5 viral projects (RSV, CMV, hMPV, PIV1, PIV3), evaluated plasmid vectors, and led preclinical evaluation of hMPV vaccine efficacy, including developing a neutralization assay. Mentored junior scientists, evaluated RSV monoclonal antibody resistant mutants, monitored clinical isolates, and authored technical reports and protocols.

Scientist / July, 2016 — June, 2022

Implemented an in-house de-novo gene synthesis platform and the robotic BioXPTM 3000 system for custom gene building and DNA template generation for mRNA vaccines. Generated DNA constructs for COVID-19 pseudorecombinant virus to test vaccine breadth. Led Influenza virus rescue project, developed VSV pseudo virus neutralization assay for saRNA, and optimized the HAI assay. Monitored RSV humoral immune responses and vaccine efficacy, supported cloning for modRNA constructs, and implemented Luminex multiplex PCR for RSV co-infections. Also supported CMV and VZV vaccine programs.
