About

Saving the world, one data point at a time! Fun theory: I can code with my eyes closed... jury is still out on that one :D I'm dedicated to leveraging geospatial data analytics to understand and preserve our natural world. In research, I explore the intricate connections among disturbances, ecosystem structure, function (specifically carbon sequestration), and composition within forested ecosystems. My work offers valuable insights for sustainable land management, conservation practices, and understanding future climate dynamics. I have a background in business, science, sustainability, and big data analytics. There is no task I can't handle.

Experience

University of Arkansas

Teaching Assistant / January, 2019May, 2023

Responsibilities I taught both remote and in-person classes, developed exams and course materials, graded assignments, and facilitated engaging class discussions. Additionally, I mentored five NSF Eco-REU students, provided instruction in R programming, and guided them to successful participation in regional conference presentations and publications.

Research Technician / September, 2017October, 2018

Conducted research on sustainable systems within forested ecosystems in the continental US, including sites in Puerto Rico, Alaska, and Hawaii. I used big data to look at how Li-DAR derived structural complexity (terrain and canopy), affects biodiversity, ecosystem respiration, and net primary productivity.
