Specific Topic Areas   * **Treatment of Substance Use Disorders and Substance Use Disorders Epidemiology:**  Understanding the epidemiology of substance use disorders with a focus on the relationship between trauma, PTSD, and substance use disorders, treatments, and treatment implementation.   * **Food and Nutrition in Primary Care Population**: Understanding primary care population needs in relation to food and nutrition and intervention approaches in a primary care setting. * **Access to Care:**  Understanding health and social service systems, including specific policies and organizational barriers that affect access to healthcare, housing, food, behavioral health services, and social services. This topic includes working with local communities to improve access to care, including developing interagency networks and action research projects.     Methodological Expertise * **Community Based Participatory and Action Research** \- I have worked closely with both vulnerable populations in urban and rural settings to co\-produce research studies and interventions\.  I have also received additional training through the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation \(Interdisciplinary Research Leaders\) to develop a rural action network in the Missouri Bootheel to improve access to care\.  Other notable community based participatory work include developing a Recovery Oriented System of Care program in two rural Illinois counties\, developing transitional care program in the Transitional Center of St\. Louis in partnership with Criminal Justice Ministry\. * **Implementation Science and Organizational Theory:**  My doctoral (UCLA Center for Civil Society, VA, ISTR) and postdoctoral training (WU Center for Dissemination and Implementation, WU Institute of Clinical and Translation Sciences ICTS) focused heavily on implementation research with a focus on developing and evaluating interventions in different organizational settings.    * **Evaluation Research**:  Past MFH grants to evaluate a number of different community-based programs focused on substance abuse prevention, treatment and homeless and criminal justice populations. * **Policy Implementation Research:**  Past research focused on healthcare and housing policy and how policies are implemented in community settings.  * **Qualitative Methods:**  Expertise in a range of different qualitative methodologies, including grounded theory, phenomenology, narrative, and ethnographic.   * **Primary Care Research Networks (PBRNs)**:  Have directed the ARCHNet PBRN since 2015 and work with PBRNs across the US through NAPCRG. * **Licensed Clinical Social Worker**:  LCSW in treatment/FQHC setting (rural underserved).  I have also worked with community members to develop this treatment center and get it licensed.
