Per Olsson Gisleskog

Managing Director and Principal Consultant | Pharmacometrics & PK/PD Modeling Expert

About

Per Olsson Gisleskog, PhD, is a pharmacometrics consultant with a long experience both in the application of advanced modelling and simulation techniques, and in their strategical use for decision making in pharmaceutical development, Dr Per Olsson Gisleskog is the founder of POG Pharmacometrics. Per was born in 1960 in Sweden. He obtained his M.Sc. in pharmacy and his PhD from the University of Uppsala. His PhD focussed on population PK/PD modelling.  He has 14 years experience of pharmaceutical drug development within the  industry, working for Pharmacia in Sweden and Glaxo/GSK in the UK.  During this time he was responsible for pharmacokinetics, population pharmacokinetics, modelling and simulation in several therapeutic areas. He was also appointed clinical project team leader. For the last 25 years Per has been a consultant within the pharmacometric field, first at Pharsight, and after this at Exprimo, where he was a co-founder, and now at POG pharmacometrics.  He is author of several original research papers in the fields of pharmacokinetic / pharmacodynamic modelling. His current research interests focus around the use of modelling and simulation approaches to provide a rational basis for decision making in drug development, and around the optimisation of dose individualisation algorithms. Per lives in London, UK.
