Maurice Marongiu, PhD

MAURICE J. MARONGIU PhD Owner and engineering consultant specializing in thermal engineering applications

Research Expertise

Thermal Sciences to include heat transfer, fluid mechanics and thermodynamics of systems and components

About

Dr. Marongiu's area of expertise includes thermal management analysis and development for electronics and telecommunication systems using analytical, experimental, and numerical techniques. He specializes in the analysis and application (including computer-based simulations (CFD)) of airflows in industrial and consumer applications, and in the design and development of fluid/thermal systems, including automotive systems. His expertise extends to thermal analysis, design, development, and troubleshooting of cooling/heating/flow equipment, such as heat exchanger design, HVAC for data centers, immersion cooling, liquid cooling loops, heat pipes, fluid mechanics (compressible, internal and external flows), and convection/conduction/radiation heat transfer. He also works with phase change materials, exothermic/endothermic materials, and thermoelectric applications. Additionally, Dr. Marongiu develops short courses on thermal management of electronics and PCM applications, and has assisted in legal engineering-related cases, including patent and product liability cases.
