Secil E. Ertorer has a PhD in sociological social psychology and specializes in identity, diversity, and international migration. She earned her doctorate from the University of Western Ontario in 2012, where she later contributed as a postdoctoral fellow, developing a manual for cultural competency and diversity trainings. With a robust academic career, Secil has held key positions, including Chair and Associate Professor at Canisius University, Assistant Professor at both Canisius University and York University, and Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Western Ontario. Beyond academia, she is a highly sought-after speaker on diversity, equity, and inclusion, delivering presentations at numerous independent events. Secil's work is driven by a deep passion for fostering understanding and acceptance of diverse identities and cultures, which is evident in her community-engaged research, teaching, and awards. Her scholarly contributions include publications on culture, cultural diversity, xenophobia, and the inclusion and integration of immigrants and refugees. Her upcoming book, *Racism and Identity in a Xenophobic World* is currently in press with Springer Nature.
