Helping companies and other professionals develop business opportunities (b2b) for new and existing foods including technical reports, documentation and specifications, literature surveys and technical market analysis in the food and beverage industry. Currently engaged in new product development on snacks, beverages (cider) and fruit processing, and strategy development for a small drinks company. Case studies include stevia use, novel popcorn products, shelf-life extensions, solid-state composting and mid-infra red analysis applications to name a few - see www.foodwrite.co.uk for further examples. Completed a 20 month contract in October 2013 to deliver over 200 product documents and specifications for Maxinutrition following GlaxoSmithKline's purchase of the brand. Maxinutrition is a leading adult nutrition brand focussing on proteins delivery and mainly targeting sports people. The product range covered powders, bars, supplements, fermented and dairy drinks and other sundry product types and involved close working with a range of third party contractors. Recipient of a Technology Strategy Board grant in 2013 to investigate opportunities for advanced mathematical modelling in the food industry with Riskaware Ltd. EIC proposal evaluator and project coordinator (EIC Accelerator/Horizon 2020, Eurostars and Eureka programme) since 2014, Proposal assessor for Innovation Fund, Denmark and Euratom. Past projects: snack food equipment (2012 - ongoing), citrus processing and procurement (2015 -) Current specific projects (2023): anaerobic digesters (from 2022), baking science (starch chemistry), brewing (filtration & mashing chemistry), xanthan gum fermentation (various years from 2011). Holds a Personal Licence for the sale and distribution of alcoholic products
