Serve as a Cooperative Fire Management Specialist specializing in Emergency Communication Systems. These are systems such as Reverse 911 and IPAWS integration. Currently working to obtain information from the end users for the integration of the grant opportunity. 1. Increase the effectiveness and efficiency of emergency communication: By investing in modern alerting technologies, the program aims to streamline the process of delivering timely and accurate information to residents, businesses, and stakeholders in affected areas. This includes leveraging automated notification tools to reach target populations via multiple communication channels, such as phone calls, text messages, TV, Radio, emails, and social media platforms. 2. Foster collaboration and coordination among emergency response agencies: By promoting the adoption of standardized alerting protocols and interoperable communication systems, the program encourages closer collaboration between local, state, and federal agencies involved in emergency preparedness and response efforts. This interoperability enhances situational awareness and facilitates coordinated decision-making, thereby improving overall response capabilities. 3. Enhance community awareness and preparedness: By raising public awareness about the importance of emergency preparedness and the availability of emergency notification systems, the program aims to empower individuals and communities to take proactive measures to protect themselves and their loved ones during emergencies. This includes promoting public education campaigns, conducting outreach activities, and providing training resources to ensure that residents understand how to receive and respond to emergency alerts effectively.

Proudly serving as a Deputy Fire Chief for the Angeles National Forest. Directly provide guidance and oversight to the Fuels, Prevention and Aviation Programs. Fox Aerial Firefighting base is located in Palmdale, CA and is home to the only night flying helicopter in the National Forest System. Helicopter 531 has a 21 person staff and is available 24/7 during their 6-month contract period. My duties also include Forest Duty Officer as well as many other operational and administrative duties. The Angeles fire program is the largest in the Forest Service. The program consists of 9 Field Division Chiefs, 9 Battalion Chiefs, 3 Prevention Chiefs, 28 Type III Engine Companies, 5 Type I Hot Shot Crews, 5 Type II call-when-needed crews, 12 wet patrols, 6 water tenders, 2 fire dozers, 1 Type I helicopter and 1 Type II helicopter, a year-round fixed wing retardant base, and a 365-day 24/7 Emergency Operations Center. ANF ECC averages 5100 incidents annually.

Awarded the armed forces Expeditionary Medal for serving in Saudi Arabia. Collateral Duty Wildland Firefighter at Eglin Air Force Base from 08/1997-08/1999. Served as an engine operator on Eglin Air Force Base, which is the largest military installation in the United States. Operated tractor plow units on both wildfires and prescribed fires. Assisted in an extensive urban interface fire prevention program.
