Graduate Assistantship / January, 2019Present

- Mentor and train undergraduate students in research-oriented laboratory skills, scientific paper analysis and composition, ideation for senior designs/ research funding. - Generate protocols for laboratory in molecular biology such as RNA isolation, rt-PCR. - Provide training and maintain equipment such as Nanodrop, HPLC - Academic writing: Research and review papers, animal protocols, grant proposals, patent applications - Collaborate with laboratory members across multiple laboratories and biomedical research projects - Coordinate adherence to chemical and laboratory safety protocols

PHD Student / January, 2019Present

Project 1: Treating osteoarthritis and regenerating cartilage using fabricating injectable and biodegradable piezoelectric hydrogel from electrospun nano-fibers Poly-L-lactic acid. - Evaluate using molecular biology such as rt-PCR, ELISA, immunohistology, Alcian blue staining, uCT - Induces 95% cartilage healing after 2 months with 90% mechanical strength compared to native cartilage. - The project was published in Nature Communications in 2023 and was the top 25 most downloaded and read paper in the journal that year and a patent is pending. Project 2: Develop and optimize thermostable mRNA lipid NPs and liposomes and fabricate nano-formulation-loaded microneedle patches for vaccines to improve stability for up to 6 months at room temperature and reduce needle-phobia.
