Polymer Physics Researcher / August, 2015 — July, 2019
Dissertation: Rheological behavior of polymer melts and deformation-induced property changes in thermoplastics. Conducted in-situ rheo-optical experiments (flow birefringence spectroscopy) to decode nonlinear deformation behavior across multiple polymer systems (PS PMMA PC SBR etc.). Investigated melt deformation effects on mechanical behavior and microstructural evolution establishing robust structureproperty frameworks. Collaborative Project with Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL): Fingerprinted molecular relaxation pathways in entangled polymers under fast flow; revealed new insights requiring fundamental revision of conventional nonlinear rheology models. Mentored junior engineers and interns on composite processing material characterization and experimental workflows. Developed internal technical seminars on polymer rheology composite mechanics and structureproperty relationships. Guest-presented advanced materials topics at internal RD knowledge-sharing events helping cross-functional employees build foundational materials understanding. Experienced in training teams on experimental SOPs data analysis and research documentation.
