About

I, Uttaran Dutta, am an Associate Professor in the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication, Arizona State University, USA. I study creative ways to address development, health and social disparity issues.  My research focuses on sustainable development and social change in underprivileged communities, analyzing the importance of culture, communication, design and innovation in transforming the lives of people who are socially, politically and economically poor. I work with geographically remote, underserved communities of the Global South to build local, sustainable resources and cost-effective solutions to help them in overcoming adversities and obstacles.
