Was the lead within the district for wildlife management, research, habitat management, land use planning, education, law enforcement, and interagency coordination. I was involved in the aquisition of approximately 100,000 acres of public access, the management of 10 state wildlife areas, over 30 walk-in access properties, portions of the Comanche National Grasslands (USFS), John Martin Reservor (US COE), and assisted with management of many private lands. I was involved with wildlife baseline studies, black footed ferret re-introduction, interior least tern and piping plover management, as well as more traditional hunting and fishing management. I was the lead for a larger area education/public information program. I was the lead for a larger area inter-agency coordination program. I was also involved in initial Colorado brown tarantula reasearch.

I am responsible for overseeing both the Las Animas/Bent County Fire and Ambulance Services. I also coordinate with other agencies in the area. We handle hiring, policy and budgets for the agencies as well.

Assisted in wildlife research by: performing post-mortems on wildlife, recording data, training and supervising new personnel at the lab, preparing museum specimens, and running a dermestid colony.

Designed and lead small mammal distribution study. Assisted with breeding bird study. Was part of a multi-decade grazing study.

Did post mortems on research specimens. Prepared museum specimens. Trained new employees. Ran dermestid colony.
