Experience

Root Policy Research

Research Associate / June, 2022Present

Write high-impact reports for public and private sector clients to assess housing and economic development needs with a focus on improving the economic and social mobility of disadvantaged youth and families living in poverty and environmentally unhealthy neighborhoods. Additionally, I conduct statistical analyses of large primary and secondary datasets in Python and contribute to literature reviews and manuscripts using research from outcome-based studies and cost-benefit analyses.

Salem State University

Research Assistant / April, 2020August, 2021

I cleaned, coded, and analyzed survey response data (5,000+ responses) to gauge public opinion of wildlife policy on Cape Cod using SPSS and recommended final policy alternative from data analysis and research. As part of my work, I tracked relevant state and federal legislation, wrote summaries of academic research and best practices, and developed literature reviews, issue briefs, and policy memos.

Citizens Climate Lobby

Freelance Researcher / July, 2020July, 2021

I provided CCL members research on climate policy in Massachusetts and surrounding states in the form of policy memos and issue briefs to help the organization draft their policy agenda and legislative priorities. I also conducted weekly scans of news sources and outlets to gauge the extent to which the public was exposed to misinformation surrounding global warming and climate change and developed public education materials to combat climate skepticism.

Public Higher Education Network of Massachusetts

Community Organizer & Advocate / September, 2018August, 2020

I led and fostered a grassroots movement on campus to increase funds for public higher education and to increase access to higher education opportunities. I grew the organization by conducting legislative research on the CHERISH Act and producing policy briefs and memos for the community and by educating administrators and legislators on the progressive decline in public funds for higher education institution.
