About

Dr. Caitlin Dean is a mathematician and Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Stanford. She obtained her Masters in Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2014 before going on to pursue her Ph.D in Mathematics from Stanford in 2020. Her research focus is on number theory, with a special interest in the arithmetic of elliptic curves. She is also an active participant in interdisciplinary collaborations using mathematics to tackle difficult problems in biology, cryptography, and other disciplines. Outside of her academic pursuits, she enjoys running, hiking, and rock climbing.
