About

**Anatasia S. Kim, Ph.D.**, is a tenured **Professor** and **Interim Dean of Student Affairs** at *The Wright Institute* in Berkeley, CA, where she has been teaching doctoral students since 2004. In addition, she serves as a DEI consultant at a tech start-up, advising on DEI integration at all levels of the organization; is a board member of professional and community organizations; and is the Founder and Executive Director of several innovative programs that support historically underrepresented and marginalized students. Dr. Kim received her B.A. in Psychology from U.C. Berkeley (1995) and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from U.C.L.A. (2001). She is a *National Ronald McNair Scholar* and the recipient of the *NCSPP Outstanding Scholarship in Profesional Psychology*, *American Psychological Association Minority Fellowship*, *Okura Mental Health Fellowship*, and *APAGS Guardian of Psychology Award*. Dr. Kim provides **Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) consultation and training** across diverse sectors, including higher education, health care, corporations, management, tech, government, and community agencies. She specializes in helping teams, leaders, and organizations navigate workplace communication, conflict, and interpersonal dynamics based on an approach she developed - the *Kim Constructive Conversations Model* \- a skills\-based\, step\-by\-step approach to supporting difficult conversations\. Dr. Kim is the lead author of several books, including *It’s Time to Talk (and Listen): How to Have Constructive Conversations About Race, Class, Sexuality, Ability, and Gender in a Polarized World* (New Harbinger, 2019), *Clinical Psychology Internship for Underrepresented Students: An Inclusive Approach Toward Higher Education* (Routledge, 2021), and her forthcoming book, *Cultivating DEI Conversations in Higher Education: An Educator’s Guide to Learning, Engagement, and Belonging* (Routledge, 2025). Dr. Kim has provided countless presentations, workshops, and training and helped develop robust educational learning paths and content for HR, senior leaders, and teams to optimize workplace engagement, culture, and productivity. Sample project titles include *Constructive Conversations About Race, Culture, and Diversity with Clients*, *Facilitating Constructive Conversations About Culture and Diversity*, *Difficult DEI Conversation Skills*, and *Racism, Oppression, Power, and Privilege: Amplifying Skills for Leaders*. Her organizational clients include Microsoft, the University of California Haas School of Business, Rite Aid, the San Francisco Department of Public Health, Markle Foundation, Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, Heidrick & Struggles, and the University of California Office of the General Counsel. In addition to teaching, scholarship, and training, Dr. Kim has worked as a **licensed Clinical Psychologist** in private practice since 2004. She specializes in treating patients with anxiety disorders, depression, and neurodiversity using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other evidence-based approaches.
