About

My primary focus of research for my doctoral dissertation involved how the criminal justice system was a direct influence on the incidence of HIV infection among the African American community. With the findings I was able to ascertain, I have been stead-fast in publishing peer-reviewed articles and establishing programs that will raise awareness to the epidemic of mass-incarceration for ways to curtail its disproportionate contribution of HIV among underserved populations. During my tenure as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, myself and a selected few were determined to initiating a “National Expungement Program” for the entire state of Wisconsin. I was also actively seeking collaborations and partnerships with organizations such as the Urban League (Greater Madison) in order to further spread awareness of how detrimental the criminal justice system is to working against diversity, equity and inclusion. Thus, if selected to your program I plan to continue my quest to eliminate the proportion of HIV that is contributed through mass-incarceration and work diligently to help underserved communities obtain a better quality of life.

Postdoctoral Fellow / September, 2022 — June, 2023

• Developed manuscripts for publication. • Data Manager for complex planning projects based on population, such as the ARTCHESS project; a team project utilized to collect, decode, clean, and distribute data for fiscal impact, geographic area, public involvement and social impact. • Develop K-grant for tenure-(T-32) level position at tear-1, research institute.

Doctoral Graduate Assistant / October, 2017 — April, 2022

• Leverage knowledge as a subject matter expert in epidemiology to interpreting rules, regulations, policies and standards to direct and lead holistic tutorials for Master and Doctoral students: in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, GIS and SAS coding to 20+ students. • Developed in-depth proficiency with computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook to perform and complete all assigned tasks on time. • Drew upon personal research/knowledge during academic journey to conduct master’s level lectures (Random Error, STDs).

• Delivered comprehensive mentoring session to 6+ undergraduate health-equity summer scholars (HESSP). • Reviewed manuscripts for any textual errors prior to submission for publication. • Diligently attended and participated in all lectures, trainings and seminars as scheduled during the six-month program. • Collated and presented findings to scientific and non-scientific audiences both within and outside of Nemours. • Participated in group or individual rounding focused on personal/professional development.
