Chris Tyler, Ph.D., is a Reader in Environmental Physiology at the University of Roehampton. He earned his Ph.D. from Nottingham Trent University in 2009, following his undergraduate studies in Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Bath, where he completed his BSc (hons) in 2005. Dr. Tyler also holds a Certificate of Higher Education in MBA Essentials from the London School of Economics and Political Science, obtained in 2025. His research focuses on environmental physiology - specifically how human performance and heat can be optimized in thermally challenging situations e.g. elite sport, firefighting, heat wave exposure.
