As the Executive Vice President, I provide strategic leadership to advance the energy efficiency and building automation sectors. I lead policy drafting and advocacy, effectively navigating federal legislative processes to drive impactful changes. I collaborated with 13 federal agencies and critical legislators to establish a new Building Automation Systems Standard Occupational Classification Code. My role includes managing research and assessments to prepare professionals for emerging building and renewable energy automation roles. I've produced over 200 comprehensive reports to inform policy decisions and shape workforce development strategies. I oversee program development, fundraising, communications, and outreach. A key achievement was co-leading efforts to secure over $2 million in funding from Siemens. My leadership at ACP focuses on strategic advocacy, research, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring organizational growth and impact in the evolving energy sector.

Associate Executive Director / January, 2014 — March, 2016

At the National Council for Science and the Environment (NCSE), I managed a membership of over 200 colleges and universities, overseeing a $1.5 million annual budget and engaging with federal agencies, legislators, and institutions to promote environmental science and education. I led legislative initiatives on Capitol Hill, collaborating with over 75 organizations to advocate for environmental policy. This involved preparing and sharing over 100 reports on the impact of research and education, informing U.S. House and Senate decisions. I also organized national conferences to foster dialogue on climate change and sustainability. My role included connecting members with funding opportunities, coordinating conferences, and building networks of professionals and advocacy experts. These efforts advanced sustainability and education initiatives, enhanced member engagement, and supported informed policy-making.

Executive Director of Sustainability / September, 2007 — January, 2014

As the Executive Director of Sustainability and the Institute of Florida Studies, one of my proudest achievements was transforming the Institute of Florida Studies from a deficit into a self-sustaining program with an annual budget surplus of over $1.4 million. My leadership at HCC's sustainability efforts was recognized within the US colleges and the impact of our initiatives was acknowledged with the inaugural 2012 National Green Genome Sustainability Leadership Award, a testament to our excellence in sustainability across education, administration, and economics. My responsibilities included developing partnerships with over 30 organizations, managing grant applications for community-focused nonprofits, and securing funding for innovative projects addressing critical issues like food deserts and environmental degradation. These initiatives directly and positively impacted the community, demonstrating my commitment to community development and sustainability.
