I am a Ph.D. Microbiology, Molecular Biology, and Biochemistry. My research focus heavily emphasized hardcore molecular biology techniques such as genetic manipulation, CRISPR, and PCR cloning for temporal gene expression studies. I utilized promoter reporters to create cell specific fluorescent biomarkers for real time gene expression assays utilizing fluorescent microscopy. I take pride in my work and value scientific communication very highly in my personal and professional life. I have earned many honors in my research career including Editor's Pick honors for my first author publication and the Jane Raulston Award for best presentation by a graduate student at the Chlamydia Basic Research Society bi-annual conference. I enjoy breaking down complex scientific topics into engaging and understandable stories. I have expertise in: * **Cell and Molecular Biology:** including 8+ years of hands-on research experience utilizing molecular biology techniques such as PCR, ddPCR, CRISPR-cas technology, molecular cloning, temporal genetics, Next Generation Sequencing, and genetic biomarker discovery/analysis. Also over 8+ years experience with mammalian and bacterial cell culture. * **Microscopy and Biomarker Visualization:** Expertise in microscopy systems including spinning disk confocal and live cell microscopy. Experience with Nikon and Andor camera systems as well as ImageJ, Micromanager, and NIS Elements. Experience with biomarker discovery via NGS as well as in-vivo and in-vitro assays. * **Biochemistry and protein analysis:** Experience with classic biochemistry research assays including SDS-PAGE, Western blots, BCA, Bradford assays, and chromatography. Also experienced with AI based protein modeling systems (Alphafold 2.0) and molecular dynamics packages (GROMACS). * **Scientific Communication and Teaching:** Experience teaching Cell and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and Ecology at a University level.
