As a project engineer developed AMETEK's first POU filter system for VOC removal and first under sink RO system; developed and patented new iodinated resins; Promoted to Sr Project Engineer/Lab Director 1989; supervised development of AMETEK's first registered (State of WI) Cryptosporidium carbon block filter; Promoted to Chemical Engineering Manager/Lab Dir. 1994; New products developed have generated 5 million-plus sales for AMETEK; Obtained 11 U.S. patents; Transformed laboratory from a small materials testing lab into a state-of-the-art R&D QC POU/POE product testing laboratory used for NSF Witness Testing capability for Lead Cyst and VOC testing. Tested arsenic removal media and developed POU arsenic removal system. Supervised POU UF/MF membrane product development for microbiological purification. Assisted with California Proposition 65 litigation resolving issues of lead in faucets and arsenic in activated carbon. Managed Los Angeles facility and continued research and development activities in the areas of carbon-cellulosic media silver impregnated formulations and membrane prefiltration materials for use in the Peerless Faucet 'Concept' faucet-attached water filter. Provided technical support for Peerless Faucet during David Horowitz's 'Commercial Challenge' television show. Tests run during show successfully supported faucet filter's claimed performance.
