About

Many product concepts struggle because material performance and processing behavior do not match application requirements. I help start-ups, SMEs, and established manufacturers close that gap. I am a chemical engineer (PhD) with 20 years of international industrial and applied R&D experience in polymer materials development. My work focuses on thermoplastics and sustainability-driven innovation, from concept to industrialization. Working from application requirements, I define development strategy, structure experimental programs, select materials, design formulations, and optimize processing and scale-up under real manufacturing conditions. By integrating performance and sustainability within the same development logic, I enable clear, data-driven decisions and reduce the risk of late-stage failure. My work combines deep polymer science with a structured, decision-driven approach to reduce development uncertainty, ensure industrial feasibility, and accelerate time-to-market. As an independent consultant, I collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver focused, high-impact results where complexity is highest. Typical challenges I solve 🔸Unclear technical feasibility and development risk 🔸Lack of structured development strategy, roadmap, and experimental planning 🔸Limited internal certainty requiring independent technical validation 🔸Difficulty selecting the right material or defining the formulation 🔸Reformulation trade-offs and limits in targeted performance 🔸Compatibility constraints in polymer blends, compounds, and recyclates 🔸Limits in multi-property optimization under conflicting requirements 🔸Process instability and manufacturing variability 🔸Lack of a robust PCF/LCA methodology for complex, multi-material products 🔸Uncertainty in the PCF/LCA approach for recycled, bio-based, or mass-balance systems 🔸Non-auditable product emissions and commercial risk from unreliable Scope 3 supplier data Core services: Technical direction & decision-making I structure complex polymer challenges into clear, executable roadmaps — enabling fast decisions with reduced technical risk. 🔹Development strategy, roadmapping & experimental planning 🔹Results interpretation and translation into clear decisions 🔹Feasibility assessment & risk evaluation 🔹Independent technical review & validation Polymer engineering & industrial development I solve formulation, processing, and scale-up challenges — delivering materials that perform reliably under real manufacturing conditions. 🔹Material selection & formulation development (main focus thermoplastics) 🔹Compatibility engineering (blends, recyclates, compounds) 🔹Process optimization (compounding, extrusion, injection- blow- or compression molding) 🔹Multi-property performance optimization 🔹Scale-up & industrial validation Sustainability & environmental impact I quantify and optimize environmental performance using LCA/PCF — identifying hotspots, enabling resource optimization, sustainable design and supply chain improvements. I integrate results into product strategy, funding and go-to-market decisions, with audit-ready outputs. 🔹PCF & LCA (ISO 14040/44, 14067, PEF) 🔹Method selection & framework alignment 🔹System boundaries, allocation & end-of-life modeling 🔹Scope 3 data strategy & supplier integration 🔹Comparative environmental analysis How I work My work follows a decision-driven approach focused on progress and clear outcomes: 1️⃣ Clarify the problem: Define requirements, constraints, failure modes, and success criteria 2️⃣ Build the roadmap: Define milestones and experiments, align formulation, processing, and tests 3️⃣ Execute development: Lead material and process development, coordinate labs and partners 4️⃣ Convert results into decisions: Interpret results, define trade-offs, and next steps Key outcomes: ✔️Clear, structured technical decisions with reduced development risk ✔️Stable, scalable materials ready for industrial production ✔️Defensible sustainability and circularity claims backed by data Let’s discuss your project If you’re working on a material formulation, processing, or scale-up challenge, feel free to reach out. I can quickly assess your situation and outline a clear, structured next step. If useful, we can follow with a short call to clarify requirements and define a practical development roadmap.
