Timothy Lou

Materials Scientist | Nanomaterial Synthesis & Polymer Characterization for Sustainability

About

Timothy Lou is a highly educated and experienced material scientist with a passion for nanomaterials. He received his BS in Chemistry from Pennsylvania State University in 2022 and went on to earn his MS in Material Science & Engineering in Nanomaterials from Boston University in 2025. During his time in graduate school, Timothy worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the Reinhard Lab, where he conducted research on the development and characterization of new hybrid nanostructures. After completing his graduate studies, Timothy joined Xheme Inc as an Application Engineer, where he applied his knowledge and skills in material science to develop new products and solutions for their clients. He also gained industry experience as a Material Scientist Intern at SpadXTech, conducting research and development on advanced materials for electronic devices. Prior to his graduate studies, Timothy gained research experience as an Undergraduate Researcher at Penn State University in the Lear Group, where he studied the synthesis and characterization of metal-organic frameworks. Additionally, he has worked as a Chemistry Lab Technician at the United States Secret Service. Timothy's extensive education and experience in material science and engineering make him a valuable asset in any organization. He is highly skilled in conducting research, analyzing data, and developing new materials and technologies. He is also a strong communicator and problem-solver, able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. In his free time, Timothy enjoys hiking, playing tennis, and volunteering in STEM outreach programs to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.
