About

Experienced academic Department Chair and Program Director in Public Health and Healthcare. I am passionate about training the next generation of health care and public health leaders! I have successfully led diverse teams through both CEPH and CAHME accreditation self-study and site visits, successfully leading to reaccreditation. I have recently joined the Council on Education in Public Health as site-visitor. <br> My diverse research background includes content expertise in Social and Behavioral Sciences, specifically the social, environmental, and cultural factors that affect health behaviors (smoking and other risk behaviors as well as preventive behaviors such as HPV vaccine uptake). I have served as the statistician on diverse research projects including the epigenetic effects of tobacco consumption, podiatric medicine and surgical outcomes, and most recently working on the Central Iowa Basic income research project as the local PI. I have served as a peer-reviewer for multiple scientific journals, including Frontiers of Public Health, Preventive Medicine, Pediatrics, and others. My leadership roles include supervising faculty and staff and supporting students through their graduate health sciences education - it is a joy and a pleasure to support their growth and development. Skilled in Research Design, Program Evaluation, Instructional Design, Public Speaking, and Teaching.
