Graduate Researcher / June, 2022 — December
Simulated and fabricated nanophotonic chips designed and executed experiments around the chips. Used 3D modeling physics programs to simulate light interactions within the geometry of the chip before spending time in various cleanrooms fabricating the geometry itself. Was in charge of performing periodic poling on the fabricated chips for myself and the team as well as designing and executing my own research projects. This included collecting analyzing and managing data setting up and using optical components and designing the experiments for testing of theories. Being a researcher has many challenges from the research information gathering itself solving the problems presented through the experimental process and all the way to the end of the experiment when results are presented to a wider audience. When faced with these and many more various challenges on a daily basis I found ways to solve them easier and easier each time including; being efficient and organized with my information gathering and handling analyzing every aspect of the experiments situation as to not overlook any possibilities and presenting research results in a palatable manner for any particular audience.
Teaching Assistant / August, 2021 — May, 2022
Taught a freshman level physics class under an adjunct faculty. The class was Classical Mechanics calculus based and covering topics from Newtons Laws to rotational motion in three dimensions. Was responsible for recitation lectures providing and grading assignments as well as all record keeping for grade submission. As these classes were large in size the biggest hurdle for my position was to clearly and effectively convey the material needed for the students to learn as they furthered their education. I overcame this easily by presenting the material in a gentle unrushed manner while providing a warm and welcoming room for the students to express their questions. I kept expectations and goals clear at all times and emphasized important highlights to ensure they knew where to focus and start. After my time in the position was concluded I received glowing feedback from many students and the entire faculty team.

Physics Lab Worker / September, 2018 — April, 2021
I assisted the lab technician with setting up taking down cleaning and maintaining efficiency of the labs for the Physics department. As a technician the services were provided for all levels of physics lab experiments as well as all physics department equipment was maintained. My duties focused on knowing the experiments that would be done by the students in order to properly set up the necessary equipment and keeping the equipment organized and clean while not in use. The main problem I focused on during my time in this position was to ensure the students received the most ideal lab environment I accomplished this through organization of lab materials as well as altering the set ups to better provide direction for the experiments.

Admissions Assistant / August, 2016 — May, 2018
I aided the admissions team in data entry event organization and providing support materials for the recruitment events. I did bookkeeping for the various international students information that came into the school working directly with the director. I worked with the admissions team in logistics and organization of large events for recruiting or welcoming new students as well as setting up and collecting the materials to be handed out during the events. In between these duties I spent time assembling materials for the team's everyday recruitment visits and their individual needs. Addressed the problem of time management to support an entire team in an effective and efficient manner so much so that recruitment numbers were significantly higher every year I was there.
