Jennifer Vey is a Senior Fellow at the Metropolitan Policy Program at the Brookings Institution and the Co-Director of the Anne T. and Robert M. Bass Center on Innovation and Placemaking. She is a respected commentator on metropolitan economies, equity and capacity building, housing, and neighborhood change. Prior to joining the Metropolitan Policy Program, Vey was an independent consultant working with grassroots organizations and foundations on community development and infrastructure investments. She was director of Project Americas at the National Housing Institute and legislative director at the National Alliance of Community Economic Development Associations. Throughout her career, she has worked intensively with research, community change agents, and policy makers to engage in substantive dialogue about alternative models for equitable economic restructuring and livable communities. Vey holds a MA in Planning from the University of Virginia and a BA in Geography from Bucknell University.
