Translational Immunology & Biomarker Strategy Expert | IND-Enabling Assays | Complex Disease Mechanisms

About

I am a translational immunology and biomarker scientist with over 15 years of experience spanning academia, CRO/CDMO leadership, and industry-facing program execution. My work focuses on complex disease biology, immune-cell–driven mechanisms, and the development of translational strategies that bridge mechanistic insight with real-world application. I have led IND-enabling assay development, human biospecimen–based biomarker programs (PBMC, plasma, cfDNA), and multi-color flow cytometry platforms supporting oncology, autoimmune, and metabolic disease initiatives. Beyond experimental execution, I specialize in synthesizing scientific literature, patent landscapes, and emerging innovation trends into clear, strategic insights for decision-making. As an advisor and former director in a CRO environment, I bring both deep scientific rigor and practical industry awareness to every engagement. I am particularly interested in innovation analysis, white paper development, and mechanistic evaluation of emerging biological technologies.

Experience

QPS Holdings LLC

Director Cell Therapy Translational Biomarker Science / January, 2024December, 2025

Led RD and service delivery for cell therapy and immunotherapy programs within a CROCDMO environment supporting biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients. Designed and implemented workflows for human immunecell processing including Leukopak and PBMC isolation downstream cell subset purification (T NK B cells) and QC release testing. Established and executed multicolor flow cytometry panels (812 colors) for immunophenotyping in oncology and autoimmune disease programs (e.g. prostate cancer lupus type 1 diabetes). Directed translational biomarker strategies integrating human biospecimens (PBMC plasma serum cfDNActDNA) to support clinical decisionmaking and INDenabling packages. Built and qualified a BSL2 laboratory environment authored SOPs and ensured compliance with GLPGDP standards. Served as primary scientific contact for clientfacing programs providing data interpretation assay troubleshooting and strategic recommendations. Led crossfunctional scientific teams and coordinated external CROCDMO partners to ensure data quality reproducibility and regulatory readiness.

Independent Scientific Advisor (Freelance)

Independent Scientific Advisor (Freelance) Translational Immunology & Biomarkers / January, 2026Present

Advising CROs academic institutions and earlystage companies on translational strategy biomarker development and regulatory positioning. Supporting CRO launch activities including scientific positioning service portfolio design and regulatory alignment. Serving as research advisor for academic liver disease PCOS and neurodegenerative disease programs including manuscript development and IP strategy. Providing scientific guidance for product and diagnostic development in immunerelated dermatology and oncology applications.

Indiana University School of Medicine

Assistant Research Professor / July, 2021September, 2023

Led independent translational research programs investigating immunometabolic and epigenetic mechanisms driving liver disease cancer and autoimmune pathology. Developed and validated in vivo and in vitro disease models integrating immune phenotyping molecular signaling and histopathology. Designed cellbased functional assays using primary hepatocytes immune cells and mammalian cell lines to assess pathway modulation under metabolic and inflammatory stress. Integrated bulk and singlecell transcriptomic analyses (RNAseq scRNAseq ATACseq) with functional readouts to identify translational biomarkers. Mentored graduate and undergraduate researchers and supported grant preparation and manuscript development.

Postdoctoral Fellow / December, 2016July, 2021

Conducted mechanistic research on autophagy redox signaling and immune regulation in metabolic liver disease and cancer models. Established multiple mouse models of MASHALD fibrosis and hepatocellular carcinoma using dietary genetic and chemical approaches. Performed immune-cell profiling molecular signaling analyses and quantitative histopathology to link pathway perturbation to disease phenotypes. Collaborated across institutional cores and interdisciplinary teams to support translational study design.

Nanoglia

Scientific Advisor (Neuroimmunology & Nucleic Acid Therapeutics) / October, 2023January, 2024

Advised early-stage biotech programs focused on neuroimmunology and nucleic acidbased therapeutics including siRNA and oligonucleotide delivery platforms. Provided scientific guidance on nanoparticle-based delivery strategies (LNP viral vectors) and experimental design for CNS-relevant in vivo and in vitro models. Supported mechanistic studies on microglial activation and inflammasome-driven neuroinflammation contributing to target validation and translational positioning.

Daejeon University

Research Professor Clinical Instructor / March, 2015September, 2016

Conducted translational research on liver pathology inflammation and redox biology using human samples and animal models. Participated in phase III clinical trials evaluating antifibrotic therapeutics and serum biomarker responses. Led toxicology studies (acute and chronic) in rodent and nonrodent species. Taught courses in liver physiology and supervised graduatelevel research projects.
