About

Charles D. Kocher is a physicist and mathematician with a passion for pushing the boundaries of scientific knowledge. He received ScBs in Physics and Mathematics from Brown University in 2019, graduating Magna Cum Laude. After completing his undergraduate studies, Charles continued his education at Stony Brook University, where he earned his PhD in Physics in 2024. During his time at Stony Brook, he developed a highly interdisciplinary research program in theoretical biophysics as a student of Ken Dill, focusing particularly on the application of nonequilibrium statistical mechanics to the origin of life and other areas. He also worked as a Research Assistant testing photomultiplier tubes at Brown University as a part of the LUX-ZEPELIN dark matter collaboration, which produced world-leading sensitivity for dark matter detection.
