Led a team to develop and de-risk Shells Circulating Molten Salt technology as a low CO2 option for thermal energy storage. Commissioned a pilot scale molten salt facility at Shells Gasmer location to demonstrate technical and commercial feasibility. Provided technical support for developing reliable electrical heater technology for Shells IUPICP technology. Managed lab and field de-risking activities for the electrical heater technology development.

Guiding teams on technology commercialization strategies including economic valuations IP strategy de-risking plans and deploymentreplication plans. Leading the delivery of specific technologies like Foam Assisted Gas Lift and Drag Reducing Agents to accelerate production and increase pipeline capacity. Guiding technical teams on asset priorities and technology needs.

Managed a global multidisciplinary team of 20 direct reports responsible for developing chemical products for various Oil Gas applications. Responsible for multiple product lines (phase separation products flow assurance products asset integrity products) working closely with external customers to identify product improvement needs and opportunities for new product development. Was building manager overseeing lab and office activities for three different business in Dow. Provided oversight of HSSE protocols and projects. Managed relationships with internal manufacturing and 3rd party toll manufacturers for new product scaleups. Provided oversight of commercial agreements (JDAs NDAs JIPs) and university partnerships. Worked with marketing team to develop intellectual property and commercial strategies for new product development. Worked with upper management on Merger and Acquisition opportunities.

Managed intellectual capital activities across 10 different businesses (Amines Epoxy Oxygenated Solvents Polyglycols-Surfactants Fluids Polyurethanes Chlorinated Organics Automotive Oil Gas Formulated Systems and Plastic Additives) Worked with leadership in each business to prioritize patent filings managing dockets and assuring that appropriate watches are in place for key technologies.

Technical Leader Enhanced Oil Recovery / January, 2008January, 2013

Developed new surfactants to provide CO2 Foam for mobility control during CO2 flooding. Established testing procedures and lab capabilities to evaluate new surfactants for CO2 Foam performance at reservoir conditions. Performed reservoir modeling to identify appropriate injection strategy for field implementation. Led field trial implementation of new surfactants for CO2 Foam for Kinder Morgan Merit Energy and Anadarko. Successful pilot results presented at the ATCE conference 2012. Led a team to develop new surfactants and polymers for ASP flooding applications.

Developed advanced polymers for improving sweep efficiency in ASP flooding applications. Developed high-temperature polymers to improve water-based drilling fluids. Developed novel chemistry for providing shale inhibition in water-based drilling fluids.

Senior Research Engineer Fluid Mechanics Mixing / January, 2003January, 2007

Designed a new propylene oxide reactor to improve mechanical reliability and reduced by-product formation; patent received. Developed an improved mixer design for manufacturing anti-icing fluids. Developed a low shear mixer design to reduce fines and increase yield in polypropylene catalysts manufacturing. Worked with the Fiber Solutions team to develop a production scale fiber spinning facility.
