PhD Chemistry graduate from UC Berkeley eager to share my technical expertise across a range of fields, including organic chemistry and materials. I have extensive experience in reaction development, graphene nanomaterials, polymers, porous materials, and electrochemistry. During my PhD, I developed graphene nanomaterials for next-generation electronics. I synthesized complex small molecule aryl precursors and controllably polymerized these precursors to form graphene nanomaterials. I led an interdisciplinary collaboration with experimental physicists and theorists to characterize and study the physical, electronic, and magnetic structure of these materials. In my undergraduate research, I synthesized covalent organic frameworks (COFs), which are porous crystalline polymers with applications for catalysis, energy storage, and water purification. I led the development of a synthetic method to access a class of hydrolytically stable COFs with unprecedented materials quality. I also helped develop a paired electrolysis method providing a more energy-efficient means of employing electrochemical reactions in multi-step syntheses.
