Sahand Serajian is a highly motivated and accomplished individual with a strong background in engineering and research. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in None at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), where he also obtained his Master of Science degree. Prior to that, he completed a Master of Science degree at the University of Tehran and a Bachelor of Science degree at AmirKabir University of Technology. Sahand has gained extensive experience in the engineering field through various internships and positions. He has worked as a cell material engineering intern at Tesla Engineering HQ, a technical advisor at Edge Global Innovation, and an engineering intern at Mercedes-Benz Research and Development North America. He has also worked in the automotive industry as a procurement engineer and a research and development specialist. In addition to his work experience, Sahand has been actively involved in various organizations and committees. He has served as a student membership committee member and chair for the Electrochemistry Society (Global) and the Electrochemistry Society (UNL student chapter). He has also held leadership positions as a Rescuer Disaster Action Team (DAT) Officer at Red Cross Red Crescent and a Student Council Chair at AmirKabir University of Technology Student Council. Standardized coefficient-of-friction (CoF) testing for battery component interfaces and in-cell adhesive materials; improved test repeatability from 80% to 10% CoV enabling confident design/process decisions and supplier alignment. Developed electrolyte exposure + mass uptake/loss protocol to simulate corrosive battery conditions for adhesives; improved measurement repeatability from 130% to 24% CoV and reduced wet-handling time from 10 min to 3.5 min per assembly improving throughput and data reliability. Built a Python-based workflow to automate test-data processing statistics and report-ready outputs; reduced manual analysis time by 90% and improved consistency of technical reporting. Delivered a POR-referenced supplier benchmark package (ranked outcomes across 9 suppliers) to support material selection qualification readiness and phase-gate decisions. Performed structured root-cause analysis on spec/drawing/TDS/CoA discrepancies; communicated corrective actions and updated documentation with cross-functional stakeholders.
