Vicky Goosey-Tolfrey, also known as Vicky Tolfrey, is a highly accomplished academic and researcher in the field of disability sport. She holds a PhD in Pushing Economy and Wheelchair Propulsion Technique of Wheelchair Racers from the Manchester Metropolitan University - Cheshire Campus. She has a wealth of experience in this field, having held various positions at Loughborough University and Manchester Metropolitan University. Currently, Vicky is a Professor in Applied Disability Sport at Loughborough University and also serves as the Director of the Peter Harrison Centre for Disability Sport at the same institution. She has also held positions as a Reader and Senior Lecturer at Loughborough University. Prior to this, Vicky was a Senior Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University - Cheshire Campus, where she also served as the Great Britain Wheelchair Basketball Sport Science Officer. Vicky's research focuses on the biomechanics of wheelchair propulsion and how it can be optimized to improve performance in wheelchair racing. She is highly respected in the field and has published numerous articles and book chapters on this topic. Vicky is also a sought-after speaker and has presented her research at international conferences and events. In addition to her academic work, Vicky is also involved in coaching and has worked with elite athletes to help them improve their wheelchair racing technique.
