Contour Semiconductor
Founder, CTO, & Board Member / January, 2000 — May, 2015
Founded this VC funded semiconductor company for the development of low cost, high capacity, solid state memories. Invented DTM memory technology, a highly efficient and symmetric memory architecture. This patented architecture reduces the number of mask and process steps by as much as 65 percent compared to NAND flash memory resulting in about a three-fold improvement in capacity for the fab with a corresponding 65 percent reduction in wafer cost relative to NAND while maintaining compatibility with a standard CMOS line. The DTM memory array is a self-aligned, cross- point array based on a 4F² cell that uses a vertical epitaxial diode as the select device and a patented phase- change memory element design. Successfully demonstrated memory device manufactured without any transistors. Responsibilities also include patent writing and PTO office action responses. 46 patents issued or allowed and over a dozen pending. Created 3D animation tool for visualizing processes in Visual Basic.
Glimpse Waters inc.
President / February, 1997 — December, 2013
Founded this solutions and inventions company for the marketing of my various patented and patent pending inventions. Developed embedded software for H&L Industries, a maker of fiber optic controllers for the power utility industry. Other clients include companies in the Fortune 50 and the United States Olympic Committee (Sport Science & Technology). Developed trailer backing guidance device & high speed sewing machine (100K stitch/min). Multiple patents issued.
University of New Hampshire (UNH)
Senior Keystone Project Mentor / September, 2023 — Present
