About

Mathieu Francoeur is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the Price College of Engineering at the University of Utah. He also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer (JQSRT). He received the JQSRT Young Scientist Award, the National Science Foundation CAREER Award, and the Army Research Office Young Investigator Award. His research focuses on thermal electromagnetic transport and its application to energy conversion and thermal management. His research interests include: near-field radiative heat transfer, phonon polaritons, radiative property control, near-field radiative transfer devices, thermophotovoltaic power generation, and electromagnetic scattering.
