Samuel Herrera Duarte is a highly educated and experienced biologist with a passion for environmental management and research. He obtained his Bachelors Degree in Biology and Baccalaureatus in Scientiis in Biology from the University of the Valley of Guatemala in 2022. With a strong foundation in biology, Samuel has actively pursued various research opportunities in the field. He has worked as an Environmental Management Technician at Cementos Progreso S.A., where he gained hands-on experience in implementing sustainable practices in a corporate setting. Samuel's research experience includes working as a researcher in Biological and Geographical Sciences at FLAAR Mesoamerica, where he focused on the study of flora and fauna in the Mesoamerican region. He also worked as a GIS specialist in photointerpretation at the University of The Valley Of Guatemala (UVG), where he utilized his skills in spatial analysis to study environmental changes. At UVG, Samuel also served as an Assistant Instructor for courses in GIS, Remote Sensors, Genetics, and Advanced Biology. He further expanded his research experience by working as a Field Researcher for the Sustainable Forestry Initiative at the Tropical Agricultural Research and Teaching Centre (CATIE). Samuel's research interests include environmental management, conservation, and the study of sediments in Lake Atitlán. With his strong academic background and diverse research experience, Samuel is equipped to make valuable contributions to the field of biology and environmental science.
