About

As a dynamic professional, I bring a multifaceted skill set across four pivotal areas: research, third-party logistics (3PL), supply chain sustainability consulting, and education. Boasting two decades of industry experience, complemented by a PhD in Operations and Supply Chain Management, I adeptly bridge the theoretical and practical realms of sustainability and supply chain operations. My expertise lies in steering organizations through the intricacies of operational performance and sustainability, championing a harmonious balance across the triple bottom line of people, planet, and profit. 🔬 In my journey as an early-career researcher, I explore the resilience of sustainable supply chains against the backdrop of global VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity) challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical shifts. This unique fusion of industry experience and academic rigor provides actionable insights for businesses striving for sustainability amidst evolving landscapes. 🎓 Within the industry, my leadership style is characterized by collaboration and a results-driven approach. My expertise spans the FMCG and manufacturing sectors, particularly in Ready-made Garments, where I have successfully merged efficiency with sustainability. This has not only led to cost savings but also set higher benchmarks for sustainability. 📊 As a consultant, my focus is on catalyzing change through operational agility and sustainability compliance. I am committed to transforming business processes for optimal resource utilization and adherence to sustainability standards, thereby ensuring cost savings alongside enhanced operational efficiency. 🎓 As an educator in the early stages of my career, I motivate students to adopt a comprehensive business outlook. My teaching methodology integrates real-world case studies with academic theories, preparing students to thrive in a future where efficiency, ethics, and environmental stewardship are intertwined. 🎯 My overarching goal is to drive transformative change within the global sustainability and supply chain sectors. I advocate for innovative practices that cultivate resilience, adaptability, and economic viability in organizations dedicated to sustainable growth.

The University of Auckland

Sustainable Supply Chain Analyst -Doctoral Candidate & Researcher in Operations & Supply Chains / December, 2019 — March, 2024

Supply chain disruptions, especially the impact of COVID-19 on supply chain sustainability, are a significant focus of my research. My industry-focused study explores and investigates the tensions and barriers to a sustainable supply chain and how adaptive, resilient and agile supply chains can help sustainable supply chains transform into crises (VUCA)-ready supply chains. As a qualitative researcher, for my Masters, through case studies, I have investigated long-term relationship management and customer retention in the New Zealand 3PL industry. As part of my doctoral thesis, I recently conducted a case study on challenges, lessons and opportunities for sustainable business practices in New Zealand supply chains due to COVID-19. Analysis of supply chain sustainability issues, challenges, tensions, and barriers and recommending remedies for sustainability and supply chain performances is where I excel most. I plan to publish three quality articles as part of my doctoral thesis.

Self Employed

Sustainability & Supply Chain Management (SCM) Consultant / November, 2016 — Present

As a sustainability & supply chain consultant, I have successfully guided organisations in achieving efficiency, operational flexibility, profitability and adopting sustainable practices. With expertise in Third-Party Logistics (3PL) and a particular focus on the fast-moving consumer goods-FMCG and manufacturing operations, i.e., export-oriented ready-made garment sectors, my leadership and operations management skills help cultivate valuable relationships with customers and stakeholders, driving mutual success, i.e., continuous improvement, business process improvement, operational flexibility and economic viability.
