Dr. Galen Clavio is a professor and the director of the National Sports Journalism Center at Indiana University. He received his PhD in Sport Management from Indiana University in 2008, and also earned a Masters in Sport Management from the same university in 2005. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Sport Communication from Indiana University in 2001. His research interests include sports media, race and gender in sports, and sport-related entertainment. Clavio is an accomplished author, having published several books, articles, and reviews. He is an avid collaborator, often working with multiple partners to explore and publish new findings. He gives lectures, keynote addresses, and panel discussions domestically and internationally. Clavio is passionate about teaching and mentoring, supporting students through critical analysis, knowledge acquisition and skill development.
