Research Assistant / January, 2022 — Present
Leading research funded by the Defense Logistics Agency on multilayer packaging films for military MRE rations, focusing on sustainable retort and non-retort packaging options. Designed and executed experiments to evaluate adhesion, barrier, mechanical, morphological, and chemical properties of films under sterilization and storage conditions. Analyzed and interpreted experimental data to study the structure-property relationships and understand the degradation mechanisms of packaging films under various food types and storage conditions. Collaborate with industry partners to source commercial films and share project updates with them. Managed laboratory operations to ensure safe and efficient workflows. Trained students in advanced polymer testing methods including DMA, Goniometer, Flash DSC, QCMD, and Mocon OTR. Contribute to interdisciplinary projects including materials development for 3D printing and cell media stability studies using QCMD.
Teaching Assistant / August, 2022 — August, 2024
Taught labs on Polymer Synthesis and Characterization, trained 50+ students in polymerization techniques and analytical instruments (FTIR, TGA, DSC, UV-Vis, SEM). Provided feedback on lab reports and ensured safe laboratory practices.
Amcor
RD Trainee / July, 2021 — July, 2022
Contributed to the development and scale-up of multilayer packaging for global FMGC clients (Unilever, Colgate, PG, and PepsiCo) with a focus on sustainability, cost optimization, and performance. Supported development trials of new packaging materials on production lines, including printing, lamination (solvent-based, solventless, extrusion coating), slitting, and pouch making processes. Performed delamination and analysis of multilayer laminates for in-house replication. Drafted CAPA reports and COAs, ensuring alignment with customer and regulatory requirements. Engaged with suppliers and internal teams to troubleshoot performance and quality issues. Conducted mechanical and barrier testing of raw materials and laminates.
University of Delhi
Undergraduate Research Assistant / May, 2018 — May, 2019
Conducted in-situ synthesis of silver-polystyrene core-shell nanoparticles using the mini-emulsion polymerization technique. Fabricated indicator strips from recycled paper coated with silver nanoparticles for heavy metal detection in water. Performed testing and characterization of synthesized nanocomposites.
