He received his PhD in Science Education from the University of Florida, his M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida, and his B.S. in Oceanography from the Florida Institute of Technology. Hargis has held various leadership positions throughout his career, including Associate Vice President at the University of Doha, Vice President for Curriculum and Faculty Development at Kean University, and Professor and Director at New York University Shanghai. He has also served as Director at the University of California San Diego, Associate Provost at Chaminade University of Honolulu, College Director at Higher Colleges of Technology, Assistant Provost at the University of the Pacific, and Director and Assistant Professor at the University of North Florida. Dr. Kamal I.M. Al-Malah, a portable, platform-independent professor of chemical engineering. He holds B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees all in chemical/biochemical engineering. Dr. Al-Malah graduated from Oregon State University in 1993, and his area of specialty during M.S. and Ph.D. programs dealt with protein interactions and behavior at interfaces in biological systems. He currently researches in the modeling, simulation, and optimization aspects of physical/biophysical systems and characterization of molecular properties within the dome of chemical, biochemical, pharmaceutical, and food engineering.
