Frank Lipnizki has been a Professor of Chemical Engineering in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Lund University, Sweden, since 2017. He leads the Membrane Group and manages MemLab, the university’s Industrial Membrane Process Research and Development Centre. Before joining Lund University, he spent 16 years at Alfa Laval – Business Centre Membranes in Denmark. The Membrane Group at Lund University is the largest in Sweden, focusing on the water-energy-food security nexus in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. His main research interests include the integration and optimization of membrane-based separation processes in the food, biotech, pulp and paper industries, as well as in water and wastewater treatment. He also specializes in membrane fouling and cleaning strategies. Currently, he serves as the President of the European Membrane Society.

Hisfazilah Saari is a highly qualified food technologist with extensive experience in the field. She completed her Ph.D in Food Technology from Lund University in 2017, where she focused on developing new processing techniques for food preservation. Prior to that, she obtained a Master of Science in Food Technology from Wageningen University & Research in 2011. Aside from her academic achievements, Hisfazilah has also gained practical experience through internships and work placements at food manufacturing companies. Currently, Hisfazilah is working as a food consultant at a leading food company, where she continues to utilize her skills and knowledge to develop innovative food products and improve existing processes.
