I am a post-doctoral associate at New York University who is studying the role of subcortical brain structures in decision-making. I have extensive experience with modeling complex dynamics over times, specifically with modeling the complex dynamics found in large-scale neuronal data sets over time. Laura Carter is an accomplished human rights researcher with expertise in equalities and non-discrimination, particularly in the social impact of data, technology and AI. She completed her PhD in Human Rights Research Methods from the University of Essex in 2024, where her thesis examined the gendered impact of data and AI in the public sector. Prior to this, she obtained a Master of Arts in Gender Studies from SOAS, University of London in 2010, where she developed a strong understanding of intersectional feminist theory in international contexts.
