About
I am an experienced, highly motivated technology professional with experience in a variety of research environment technologies and infrastructure on-prem and in the cloud. I have held many roles in leading the delivery of programs and projects in advancing the Informatics & Technology (I&T) capabilities for genomics focused organizations. As a researcher, I have more than 20 years of experience in analyzing "big data” at the molecular, organismal, and ecological scales for environmental, metagenomic and human health data. I use advanced analytical tools and custom scripts in R, Python, MATLAB, UNIX, and SAS to interrogate data sets for meaningful insights. I enjoy speeding up data analysis and discovery implementing test driven development of bioinformatics workflows on HPC and commercial cloud computing resources (AWS and GCP and custom cloud platforms).

About
I run a research and consulting business focused on solving problems in the bioanalytical, microfluidic, and nanotechnology sectors.  Having an extensive background from research and education in multiple disciplines, I generate outside-the-box solutions to meet client needs.  Work for recent clients has included training on DNA analysis for identification and diagnostic purposes, immunoassay improvements, evaluation of new instrumentation for soil testing, evaluation of material coatings for products in petroleum storage applications, utilization of chemical bath deposition methods, photovoltaic cell development, integration of carbon nanotubes into photovoltaic devices, and development of photonic and microfluidic devices for integration with THz spectroscopy analysis.  As part of my work, I prepare proposals and collaborate with clients to prepare proposals for government and private agencies to secure funding for cutting edge technology development.
